Intro
This project was a work sample in digital design and was done in 2023. The brief from the client was: "Choose an area of interest and define its framework for digital design work. Develop a concept using research and creative exploration, utilizing tools and techniques to represent ideas through prototypes.”

Today's market for used quality furniture is growing faster and faster. Secondhand is both becoming increasingly popular and has a positive impact on customers' wallets. Therefore, I want to create an intuitive and user-friendly e-commerce app for buying used quality furniture. In this project, my task was to come up with a concept and create UX / UI design for an app that meets the needs of buyers, while creating a fantastic and seamless digital experience. For the task I have created a fictitious company profile to communicate the concept/app.
To begin the project, I did a lot of research on the market for used quality furniture and researched several e-commerce apps and e-commerce websites that sell furniture online. I conducted a survey and several interviews with potential users. I did this to better understand their needs, preferences and pain points. I made a Google Form survey, in which 41 people participated. I also interviewed 3 potential users and found their pain points.
From this research, I discovered key pain points for users. These pain points were a lack of confidence that the quality furniture lived up to the quality users expected, users' problems finding the right furniture, and also the user's concern that the item would not fit in their home once delivered. I therefore designed a prototype for an app that would solve these problems.
Using my research as a basis, I began sketching a design that would meet the needs of potential buyers of used furniture. My goal was to create a simple and clean interface where the user can navigate with ease and with clear CTAs.

When it comes to the pain point of lack of confidence that the quality furniture lived up to the quality that the users expected, I wanted to build trust with the user. This was done by including a feature where users could leave reviews in the app. The pain point, which was about the user's problem in being able to find the furniture they are looking for, I included a powerful search function in the app so that the user can search their way to the result. To address the user's concern that the item would not fit in their home once delivered, I added an AR feature to let buyers see how the piece fits in their home.
The name of the service and the logo is elements i been sketched out. I used feedback from potential users to validate the design. The font is chosen based on the criteria that it should be: high readability and work well digitally.
After the changes based on the feedback and iteration of the design, this was the result. User feedback from the final tests was generally positive. Users commented that the interface felt easy to understand and the experience of the prototype and the concept was overall positive.
The conclusion can be summed up as that I created a concept and an e-commerce prototype for used quality furniture by starting from research and analysis of the market and potential users. I created a simple interface and worked out features that can be considered to meet users' pain points. After conducting user tests, I can conclude that the prototype and the concept as a whole have made a positive impression on potential users.
